The obvious main reason: N900 prototype. But N900 wasn’t present anymore!
Nokia sales guys said first they have never seen it in their store, so I’ve asked them if I reached the proper store. “Yes, this is the main Nokia Store in London and actually N900 is no longer present in our store.

In plus fata de momentul la care am inregistrat video clipurile de mai jos: “se pare” (din surse sigure) ca noile terminale HTC cu Android vin fara portalul Market instalat, atat in Romania cat si in Rusia, indiferent prin ce canal de vanzari.

The question is smart, but Nokia’s decision not to enable the portrait mode but for the phone app isn’t.
Imagine you have a glass in one hand and need to reply to an e-mail; or you smoke and need to paste a phone number… I’d say more than 30% of the device usability would be lost.

I watched over 50 YouTube videos from Stuttgart, and I saw a pattern:
With the present firmware, a Nokia N900 lasts for about 3 hours in heavy demo conditions. Take a look for yourself in the video below and see a ” low battery” alert at 11:50 AM. Now, for sure Nokia guys recharged fully over night, so that at say, 9 AM to start with a full battery.
Of course nobody is expecting Maemo 5 to be full of 3rd party goodies and this is it. The platform is kinda’ new and the developers never got time or will to start building apps for it.
Therefore, Nokia doesn’t say much about how many they are and what are they doing (the 3rd party apps); it seems though that some of them are:
– Qik
– Documents To Go (DataViz)

What am I saying here: take a multimedia phone; a review should be a show off of its video and music features, ok. On the other hand, if the reviewed device is next to a computer in terms of GUI, multitasking, battery life, OS and stuff, I’m expecting some serious tests and opinions.

Dupa cum ati observat, Google nu permite transmiterea fisierelor prin bluetooth, indiferent de tipul lor.
Motivul este ca pachetul de securizare a sistemului nu e inca gata (august 2009), iar BT este una din cele mai comune cai de intrare a unor aplicatii sau fisiere sistem care sa destabilizeze platforma; asa ca au ales sa inchida cu totul aceasta poarta.
Exista cateva variante prin care puteti totusi trimite macar un wallpaper sau un mp3 catre un alt device:

A: Well, I think there isn’t such a game, but I DO have some classifications:
-best bluetooth game: Global race: raging thunder – supports(tested) 4 players real-time connected with good speed/ also Asphalt 1 can do the same…
-best gameplay: warcraft 2 I guess…(and Starcraft when it comes out) -best quality graphics: Quake 3 Arena, Star Wars: the force unleashed, Pandemonium

Am 51 de aplicatii instalate la ora asta pe Magic. aTrack este o aplicatie terta care le poate compara versiunea instalata cu cea disponibila Market si poate downloada noile versiuni acolo unde gaseste (echivalent la Symbian cu Software Updates).
Exista pana acum 4 task managere (aplicatii terte) care pot monitoriza taskurile si procesele, impreuna cu posibilitatea de a face close sau kill, sau cu prioritizare de proces, task managere care dau feed back grafic in bara de prezenta a interfetei cu raportarea ramului disponibil, download, upload, nr de task-uri si procese active.
Optiunile pe care le ofera Androidul atunci cand cauti un contact sunt una din caracteristicile de baza ale centrarii unui OS pe utilizator.
Practic, dupa ce gasesti un contact printr-un query unificat (cautare in orice tip de continut al telefonului), ai urmatoarele optiuni:
Apeleaza, trimite SMS, chat (functie de ID-ul de messenger, Androidul va deschide clientul de chat corespunzator), localizeaza pe harta, afla prognoza meteo pentru locatia unde se afla contactul, trimite email, verifica zi de nastere, share-uieste fisiere etc.

In lumina puternica de soare ecranul este perfect lizibil, cu detalii bine definite si contrast neasteptat.
